On Saturday we said a fond farewell to our great friend & Club Man Idress Mohammad better known to us all as simply Ed. For over 11 years Ed has travelled from various locations to be part of the Colwall family. The furthest and where he went back to on Saturday night being Cambridge, yes Cambridge to play his final game at CCC at least for a while. Ed has played over 145 games & on Saturday achieved the milestone of reaching over 3,000 runs. In true Ed style he finished with a flourish, never one to “have a look at the bowling” the ball flashed to the boundary on a regular basis including a massive 6 into Stowe Lane. It wasn’t only with the bat that Ed delivered for the club his 105 wickets proved valuable on many occasions throughout his CCC career.

I know that he has many many friends at the club and Saturday demonstrated that clearly with people coming to say farewell to a true top clubman. He tells me that on his breaks from his new job in USA in true Arnie style “I will be back” & of course we will be delighted to welcome him.
